I love, love what I do! The process of working with clients and gathering details that inspire them is very special. Taking those details and incorporating them into a very special dessert I find is very rewarding! I love the feeling of being part of a wedding or event by providing a beautiful, delicious piece of art that will be savored and shared with family and friends. That contribution is very important to me!
I am a self-taught cake designer and sugar artist with a background in fine art and graphic design. I got my start working at Toni Patisserie in Chicago. Several years later, while working at the The Hotel at Kirkwood Center in Cedar Rapids, I was offered the position of cake designer.
In 2016 I began teaching Basic, Advanced and Wedding Cake Design for the Baking and Pasty Program at Kirkwood Community College.
In 2018 I opened Sugar Flower Cake Design, specializing in custom designed cakes for private clientele.
